Sustainability in training and operations

We teach economically sustainable thinking and action in all of our training programs and also exemplify this throughout the company. We promote the use of regional and seasonal products and support local producers in order to minimize the environmental impact. We also use modern technologies (solar) to save energy and water.

We are committed to reducing food waste and ensure that food is not thrown away but reused or redistributed.

United Against Waste

As a member of the UNITED AGAINST WASTE association, we are committed to a series of specific measures to help the industry prevent waste and promote sustainable practices.

  • Active project collaboration in food-save programs
  • Development of ideas for waste prevention
  • Imparting knowledge at all educational levels to establish environmentally friendly processes in bakeries

foodwaste.ch

We are part of the foodwaste.ch project. The non-profit organization supports 15,000 small to medium-sized retailers in the legally permitted sale of products with an extended shelf life (MHD+). This alone could prevent 20,000 to 30,000 tons of food waste annually. The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) created the legal basis in 2021 on behalf of the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BLV).

Too Good To Go

We are also partners of Too Good To Go. Every day from 5 pm, we offer bags of unsold but still edible food at a reduced price.
